Had my right hip replaced back in 2001 when I was 46. Then in 2011 had my left one done. Both times I was riding after 3 months per doctors orders. Like previous posters have said PT is very important. The recovery of the second one was so much easier than the first... my only pain med following sur...

I know Dakota was a B grade mini - meaning he was between 34" and 38". I never really measured him but I am guessing he was right around 34". He was definitely an easy keeper - no grain just a ration balancer and hay. He did longe but would rather trot next to you - just like your Bud...

I never clipped Dakota - he got nice and fluffy for the winter and then always shed out for the summer.

Fort Kent - yikes. I live in Edgecomb on the midcoast and there is very little dressage going on here. Quite a bit more in southern Maine, but even for me that would mean a 1-2 hour drive. Pony may be over tempo, but definitely not over bent nor over flexed. Something that was very hard for me to learn was that "forward" does not mean faster. You look fine, but bend those elbows and be happy that pony is so well behaved!! Looks like a keeper to me.
