Re: staying slow in the medium trot
I do shoulder in because of my belief that leg yield loads the front end, so start and finish with shoulder in. definitely change which shoulder you ride in. do S I in medium trot, go straight 2 or 3 strides in medium, do SI in collected. really sit. go straight for a few strides, SI to medium, .as...

Thank you Chisamba. Especially for the clear directions HOW to do it. Aah well the classics adhere to the fundamental theory that whip means forward and spur means lateral. so, Mama is a lazy horse, been used for lessons etc. when riders tap her with the whip she throws up her head she may step side...

Thank you Chisamba. COnnection is our focus these days, and moving into the connection IS part of the problem. WHen I use it, he quickens his hind leg.... doesnt lengthen his body or neck. Re: Rediscovering forwardness and impulsion
This is rather mundane, but have you tried something like walking down a hill, then turning around and asking for a big trot up? Most horses I've ridden really want to open up on hills, so take advantage of that and ask him to GO. After he's responding to the go reliably, add in transitions within ...

Rediscovering forwardness and impulsion
First off I know forwardness isnt speed and impulsion is independent of it. We are entering our third year showing PSG and now trying to move up to I-1. This year has been a real..... shit show? One of the issues seems to be a loss of really going forward into the bit and carrying himself. I feel as...

I recently bought a Kingsley bridle. Probably the nicest one I have ever had. Leather is soft but not limp, and the finish is not dulling over time. (I use it ~4/days a week.... maybe for 6 months.... )

Tristan Tucker recently added some content on producing second trot. He starts out with sort of an in-hand half-steps approach, then starts to ask for the steps in small increments in the trot (not half steps obviously, but more articulation and cadence with the hinds). There is a 7 day free trial ...

Thanks for your input. The reason why I am looking at the Outback is because towing is 2700 pounds versus Forester's 1500 pounds. Ground clearance is the same for both. The smaller rugs from IKEA might work for you. They seem to have a fairly dense and shorter pile. Youd need two as they are not really big enough. Id suggest going to the store and picking the ones you want. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/sejling-sh ... -50393081/
