Re: I hate this time of year
Normally, he wears a sheet or blanket but I took it off to lunge him. While I was closing the gate, the stinker dropped and rolled. He rolled again after his clip. In my defense, it was in the mid 60's. It was sunny. I had about 5 hours before sunset. He needed a second clip anyway although I was ho...

Maybe this belongs in grooming. But I'm sure we've all been here. A single day gap in the rain so I free lunged him and he dropped and rolled. I took it as an opportunity to bathe him and do a second clip. Ugh, he is such a Pig.

So he will be $250 for front shoes and $300 for hind shoes. He's always been on the pricier side but that's getting a little bit much. Wow, just wow. I pay $100 for fronts and pads. $150 for a full set. Another farrier charged me $135 for fronts and he's on the high end around here. And that's in p...

Thinking ahead for next year. Junior, my original goldhorse, has navicular changes, low ringbone, flat soles, and a host of other arthritic problems. Not posting goals, but I have to say I love my girls. Yesterday proved it. I took my dogs on the trail yesterday. One is a lab/pitbull mix that is fast and loves to chase. Congratulations Aleuronx! That is awesome. I have been struggling with the heat. Friday it hit over 100 and I felt my heart racing during my lesson and I couldn't continue. Sorry to say but no. A western saddle may not allow you to get into the same ear-shoulder-hip-ankle alignment but it shouldn't affect your posture from the waist up. Unless your saddle is causing you to roll your butt under and round your back. You're going to have to concentrate again on shoulders ...

I would love to go around with your "birder". Piggy has shown a low tolerance for sharing his space. At the previous boarding barn, there were a lot of peafowl. He would "herd" them in the arena and would even go out of his way to attack them if they crossed his space. He once wa...

The original goldhorse, Junior, has just turned 23. He's been retired for a very long time due to navicular, low ringbone, and arthritis everywhere. I beg to differ with Mountaineer's advice.
