Re: Vaccine reactions
Hmmm.... Could be. It doesn't seem to matter what she's getting. But I also haven't injected her IM with anything but vaccines.

No longer have this horse, it was many years ago. I don't remember.

Re: Apollo 11 50th Anniversary today
There are a few events in our lives that really stick with us forever. For me, the lunar landing was one of them. I was too young to fully appreciate that this was an extraordinary accomplishment. There is so much technology available to us today, as ordinary citizens, that something like a trip to ...

Re: How would you handle this situation?
Previous owner never represented the mare to be in foal. Obviously, there is nothing I can do about the pregnancy. My first instinct is to let it go and chalk it up to an expensive lesson learned. I have gotten some outside advise. There is more to this story. A lot more. I guess I am just looking f...

Re: How would you handle this situation?
Mare belonged to a boarder. She adopted her from a questionable situation. She owned the mare and had been with me for total of 2 months. She wanted to get rid of the mare after finding out she (owner) was herself pregnant. I thought, by the mare's looks, that she may be in foal. Big belly and dropp...

How would you handle this situation?
I'll try to make this as short as possible, so thanks in advance for reading! Back in November I acquired a mare. Before I got her I had the Vet confirm pregnancy with a rectal exam. She felt the foal "hit her hand" during the exam. It was short and sweet as the mare was not happy. The onl...

Re: Has anyone tried Hint Water?
I have been drinking flavored seltzer water lately. I find it has just enough flavor without the sugar. I like the carbonation. It is sodium and calorie free. It quenches my thirst so I drink plenty. My local grocery store frequently has it on sale so I can get a 33 oz. bottle for about $.50.

Re: Baltimore and Area Snow Storm Update
We now have a light dusting of snow on everything. It starts out so innocently, becomes beautiful, then turns into a giant PITA. It is going to be especially bad for me this year with only one good arm and 11 horses to take care of. Wind gusts up to 65mph, heavy snow accumulations up to 30", po...

Re: Would you buy a trailer without a dressing room?
I bought a Cotner trailer with an extended nose. I built a box in the front for my saddles and put hangers in the nose for bridles and halters. I put padding on the top of the box so I have a nice seat and a place to lay down. I can put my trailer in the equipment shed for storage. I did not want a ...

Has any one seen the schedule for the expo? Charles de Kunffy is scheduled for 4 lectures thru out the weekend. I was surprised to see someone of his caliber listed in the brochure. Merry Christmas to me! I was putting out round bales of hay yesterday and was doing something really stupid. I knew it was stupid when I was doing it, so I decided to stop doing the stupid thing by doing something even more stupid. I fell on my left side and broke my arm. I don't see the ortho Dr un...

Re: Back Up Cameras for hauling
I got one for Christmas a few years ago. I had it installed inside the nose of the trailer and hardwired into my light switch. I can view the horses when I haul. The screen is small, but I can see what is going on back there. I would go for the biggest screen possible. It came from an auto parts sto...

Re: Stall mat experiences...good and bad please?
I have had 4X6 3/4" stall mats in my barn for years. Love them! I installed them over black top. I drove gutter nails thru them right into the black top to keep them from shifting. Never had a nail come up. I have found that installing them in cold weather keeps the seams tighter. By that, I me...

Re: High-neck turnout blankets/sheets?
I have several high neck styles from different companies. I like the idea but I don't like how they fit. They all rub my horse's manes out just in front of the withers. It takes all summer long for the mane hair to grow back to a scraggly 1 inch long. My horses all have thick necks, so maybe that is...

Re: What will it take for gun lovers to say ENOUGH
Anger and violence is rampant in this country. Self control is lacking. Why is it necessary to flip someone off if they are driving like a stupid person? Does it resolve the issue of them driving like a stupid person, or does it make the flipper feel better? I don't see pulling the trigger of a gun ...
