The problem with shelves is that they tend to collect water especially if you have bar soap. Nevertheless, I had one put in because I liked the look, rather than baskets. So I vote for a shelf.

JMHO - YMMV, but unless the bruise is pressing on a large vein, bleeding could be more of a problem. Remember, you are only avoiding the NSAID for 2-3 days.
