Re: Health and Fitness 2023
I am contemplating the DRT programme, I need to be a lot fitter for a new horse as well as losing 20lb to get my BMI into a acceptable levels. Diet is a problem, I’m having difficulty with low carbing as I find it really badly affects my mood (ramps up depression), although cutting out sugar in gene...

Re: Spooking
One of the best things I did with respect to the spooking was to take her off feeds which had added magnesium. I found that the magnesium calmers just sent her doolally, I spotted an equifeast advert that said no magnesium just calcium was the best but when I tried their calmer she wouldn’t eat it. ...

Re: Spooking
I forked over $20 for a Charles DeKunffy vlog on "How To Deal With A Spooky Horse", the advert came across my Facebook page quite frequently and I finally succumbed after another spookfest with my mare. It started with an introduction to the Maestro, then the question posed by the intervie...

Re: Lets talk about stretching for the mid-upper level lads and lassies (for real this time)
I don’t stretch at the start of a ride, with a spooky mare all my efforts are concentrated on getting her attention and concentration. As soon as I have that I intersperse the work with short periods of stretching to give the neck muscles relief, but the stretch has to be in balance and is always in...

I think if they were able to hold their own on a theoretical discussion they wouldn't be supporting Will in the first place.

Re: Will Faerber again
From the videos I’ve seen there’s no consistency in the contact. For me the consistency must come first, and only then do you encourage the forward, down and out. The videos I’ve watched show inconsistent contact, and the horses go down and deep rather than fdo.

Re: Health and fitness 2021
I looked at myfitnesspal to work on logging exercise and food but found it kind of cumbersome. I am thinking of looking at WW. I found mynetdiary a lot easier than myfitnesspal, although my biggest problem is being consistent with the logging. I'm right at the top of the acceptable BMI, and looking...

Apologies for being late to the conversation but I wanted to chip in with a link to an article which I found very useful, about half way down the subject of hands and connection is discussed.

Re: DJD / cervical arthritis in Sandro Hit lines
I have a Samarant mare who has not exhibited any signs. Her half sister also by Samarant has DJD and can no longer be ridden, I originally thought this was because of the mare line. I don’t have any further information but will follow this topic with interest.

Re: Your preferred spurs
Currently stainless steel Prince Of Wales Spurs, they don’t leave a mark. It all depends on how sensitive your horse is, it’s best to start small and work up so if you can borrow rather than buy. Probably better to Start with a small shank and toothed rowels.

Re: StraightForward and Redsoxluvr- Petrie updates, please?
I bought a pair of Petrie Olympics half-price in a sale, they were a couple of cms longer than my standard boots but I decided to risk it. They took a couple of months to drop and there’s a crease behind my knee but as my general schooling boots they’re great and have taken the load off my more expe...

Re: I need a new phone
Moto G , cheap as chips but all the whistles and bangs, fantastic little phone and has a micro SD if you want to expand the memory. I won't touch Samsung because of the touchwiz interface and the fact that they abandonded the galaxy tab software updates.
