We have an imported Dutch gelding in my barn that is very highly regarded. So much so that there is interest in finding out if he has any full siblings or if his mother had any other offspring.

How could we go about looking into this? I personally have no affiliation with KWPN.

Need? Not sure. Mine has lots of blankets and sheets for both the purpose of layering as well as for backup.

Keep in mind we live in Texas. He has:

2 cotton sheets
1 stable sheet
1 turnout sheet
1 Medium weight stable blanket
2 fleece liners

Also fly sheet, wicking sheet, etc.

My mother was disgnosed in 1998, just a few months after my wedding. Mastectomy, chemo, radiation - the works - and she was cancer free for many years.

As someone up thread mentioned, there is a genetic component to my mom's cancer and now she is 2 years into an ovarian cancer diagnosis.

The rides this week went well, all things considered. Cartier is going so well and I need to catch up to him. Well, at least to my previous level of competence.

Don't be alarmed by the double. Trainer ride first and then it was "don't touch the curb" for me.

I have done a deeper dive into my horsey closet and have found a few things I didn't remember I had! Namely a pair of Petrie dress boots worn once. I thought I sold them on eBay years ago!

My barn was hosting a schooling show on Saturday and it was busy, so we just grazed and let him stretch his legs a little.

My experience aligns with Kelo's. In a regular lesson program with a particular trainer, any given lesson could go over or under the time allotted. In a clinic, I would not expect to be cut short unless it was clearly in the best interest of the horse or it was mutually agreed.

Most of my house now has the ceiling matching the walls. Downstairs bathroom, living room, both upstairs bedrooms, the hallway and the stairwell.. Some rooms have painted white crown moulding separating and some do not.

I actually wasn't present for the failed I1 test but Lisa said he kept getting more and more behind the leg until he just stopped in the middle of the 3s. Full stop. I'm not sure what that scored.

In my experience, because the incidence of Lyme is very low in Texas, the vets do not have as much experience managing it as vets in other areas. I know my vet is not at all comfortable with the idea of managing a horse with Lyme, and I generally trust him implicitly with all of my horse's needs.
