My horse went better with wither gussets until he discovered cut-back panels - it turned out that he cannot stand pressure on his trapezius, especially as he started developing his topline. Thanks for the reply. Do other manufacturers have this same policy? I guess I will need to pass on the Obrigado since I won’t trailer to buy a saddle :!: I think Schleese's warranties are only for the original owners, and a $500 option for used saddles purchased through their fitters. Any fitter with the appropriate equipment can adjust a Schleese saddle; however, it will void the warranty offered by Schleese.

I briefly owned a FairFax jumping/all-purpose saddle. Lovely and quality-made, HEAVY saddle. I was one of those people who didn't care for how it fit me.

For a brief time, I think I tried them All™. My horse really digs the Stubben Equi-soft girth. It's ugly as all get-out, but he actually offered to lift his back and breathe with that girth, and only that girth.

How are the billets positioned on your saddle? That's also affected where the girth falls on my guy... if they're pointing straight down vs. tilted forward or back.

It may be that Thinline designed their girths to have excess material around the buckles to distribute pressure at the buckles.

I always forget, but Stubben also has a sale section on their website, which includes bridles. There are several handsome ones there currently for less than $150, including the 1800.
