Re: Bizarre graduate degrees
I absolutely learned real world skills in college, though I went to three semesters of community college and finished up at state college so maybe my experience was more career focused than some. I work with people who went to top liberal arts schools, who usually have a graduate degree or two from ...

You may consider this arcane, but the pure pursuit of knowledge for it's own sake (or for the sake of understanding history, which would be important if we would bother to learn from it's lessons,) rather than every form of education having to be vocational, doesn't seem so wrong to me. Realizing i...

Yeah, my trainer texted me yesterday that he worked out with the barn owner that he could tack up/untack for me and I could meet my horse at the arena for lessons. But I had to decline. I liked Locke and Key a lot, I watched it way too fast. I really liked Spinning Out, but maybe because the male lead is so gorgeous. Also I’m a sucker for those Cutting Edge/Step Up-type movies, and this scratched that itch. My mom was telling me to watch Schitt’s Creek for the longest time, and for...

Don’t feel too bad, I seriously have the same impulse about once a month. My only saving grace so far is the number of horses I’ve seen advertised on the internet and actually seen IRL. Oh, plus the cynicism generated by three of my most recent horse purchases. I took three very different approaches...

If the horse is safe and sound, definitely use up all your budget. That’s why you have a budget. No extra points for coming in under, as you’ve learned already. 14 is the ideal age for what you want!
I used all my budget on a going, but not competed young horse and so far it’s been a disaster.
