Was this a trailer that someone lives in or horse trailer? If horse trailer, I'd add check the brakes to that list. I saw a report recently where horse trailers were having more fires due to brakes dragging creating friction.

Abuse is not a grey matter. I am not sure why you or anyone would equivocate on it. Intentionally doing something to an animal that you know causes pain just for entertainment purposes is not in the realm of kind or animal-centric. Possibly. Have you talked to the farrier about the concerns the horse has going on right now? What is being done about the RF? We've seen a lot about the LF but nothing about what is being changed on RF. I think we've discussed in past that RF contributes to what is going on in all the other hooves....

IMO, if you want him to have any sort of comfortable future, you need to let that LF grow... Your vet gave you good advice. Put your horse on Adequan. Pack his feet with Magic Cushion. Look up Esco Buff. He's a huge proponent of copper alloy shoes/nails. He has seen evidence of them getting rid of thrush and helping with other issues. I've seen some of his case studies and it appears to help.
