Re: Welsh Cob breeding
I will try to get some video of him soon. I only have a small amount taken with my phone when he was a week old. He is only just starting to trot but still doesn’t do it much, he canters everywhere :) I was told this is not a bad thing in a Cob as not all of them have a naturally clear three beat pa...

Re: XW Stock/Western saddle suggestions
Thank you for your reply. These look good and what I am looking for. I am in Australia but custom could still be doable. I have never ridden in a saddle like this before, looking at the pictures on the website do the saddles sit you right at the back of the saddle. I was hoping that I would be able ...

XW Stock/Western saddle suggestions
Hi All, I am desperately searching for saddles to fit a very mutton withered Welsh Cob. I need a saddle to start him in and am looking for something like a half breed that will be virtually impossible to fall out of :) There is a million out there but they are not wide enough. He takes a 4x XW in a ...

Re: Welsh Cob breeding
Well that's lucky because his was the only frozen available. I liked that he is actually ridden and goes out. All I'm hoping for is a steady stocky mount. Good movement would be a big bonus. Temperament is the biggest priority.

Re: Welsh Cob breeding
Thanks. I hope to be having a foal by him next year. Hopefully it will be under 148cm and eligible for pony dressage, if it goes over that is fine too. I was just wondering if he was throwing good temperaments and what people thought of him as a pony dressage sire. I'm really new to this as I have n...

Do you not like him. I'm not in the US or the UK. Being new to Cobs I really have no idea. But I thought he looked good

Re: Another New Project Horse
Well he looks like he will be fun whatever you choose to do with him. I bought a two day old Welsh D purely on impulse. I wasn't even thinking of buying a foal and then just like that I had one :) It remains to be seen whether I will be able to ride him or not. And because you can't have just one Co...

Re: Glaucoma.
Thank you. Do you think they suffer much pain with it. My boy is very stoic but appears quite depressed at times. He is thought to have aut-Immune disease which would explain his fluctuating wellness, but I worry about him a lot.

Re: Glaucoma.
Thanks for replying. My local vet diagnosed Glaucoma, but then gave me treatment for Uveitis. I am going for a four hour drive this week to see the Eye Specialist so hopefully I will have more idea then.

Re: I make all my horses picky.
Me too Rockabilly. I give him more hay than he should eat twice a day. And if there is any left I clean it all up so the fresh hay doesn't mix with the stale hay from 12 hours before
If it's not up to standard he won't even look at it.
