Guess the foaling date! *She's here!*

My Fidertanz x Don Bosco Hanoverian mare, Freebie, is due any day now. I thought I'd share my milk testing photos, and wager any guesses on colt/filly, date that she will foal, etc. Should be fun!

Sire is Fabregas (Florencio/De Niro)

She is currently at Day 327. Previous foals by the same sire have been born at day 343 and day 332. She had two colts before.




And a picFreebie having her pre-foaling bath at day 321.

What are your guesses? Filly? Colt? What day will he/she be born? Now the breeders who have been around for a while state if there is cold weather, the mares will hold off before having their baby. Also, some say if she's not completely shed out she will not foal either.... Freebie is about 75% shed out, and the next 2 weeks are cooler and constant rain.

This is tonight's test. Not too much change yet., although the udder is definitely filling in a bit more.

Chst (edited because I read above caption!) filly (hey you are due for one!) day 338. Two hind socks.

No baby yet! Udder is definitely much fuller. But with the cold weather, she has almost a winter coat coming back. Baby has dropped quite a bit. Milk has not changed in the pH or calcium yet.

Still no baby. She is at day 343. Weather is FINALLY nicer, and things are drying up ... and the blackflies are out, uf. Her pH has dropped to 6.4 for 36 hours now ... so it should be soon, but she seems rather comfortable.

She is here! Arrived at 4:15 this morning. Thank goodness for the foaling monitor, when the pager went off, she was fully out, but couldn't break through the amniotic sac. So I was able to break it and allow her to breathe. Phew!
