Are there any non-stick pans that are safe to use when a bird is present? I know that teflon is a no-no.

Ceramic cookware is bird safe and non stick but you have to be talky careful or it only lasts about a year

Overheated teflon can release fumes that are toxic to birds, can kill them within minutes. It is odorless so people wouldn't be aware of it.

Thanks all. I was visiting someone's house who used non-stick cookware and found out what I've been missing all of these years! I guess I'll never have the pleasure of using it in my own home since the bird will probably outlive me. Stainless steel and cast iron it is. And, I just found out that Revere Ware is no more. How did that ever happen??

Have you considered ceramic? I read that Greenpan is nontoxic for birds. My grandma-in-law has a set of Greenpan frying pans, and they're fantastic to cook with -- far better than any traditional teflon non-stick I've used.

Yes they are delicious. But cast iron, in case you didn't realize my intention

I might actually have eaten cat and dog. When I was in high school there was a place that served the best burgers. There was something about that flavor that no other place matched. Well it was closed down by the health department because They were caught trapping stay cats and dogs and adding it to their meat supply to incur bigger profits.

Yikes Chisamba for those burgers! Many years ago on a business trip to Germany, I ate a delicious meatloaf with great flavors. On hindsight now I wonder if it contained horse meat.

Fry hash browns or potatoes in real butter and salt for about the first year of getting the cast iron pan. It is what we did and that pan is now the egg pan because it smoother than a baby's butt.
