I fully agree with the sentiment that training is neither fast nor linear. Though, I have to say, Piedmontfields, in this particular case there appears to be clear progress with Emi through the years!

I would love to see Laddie, and Kimba, too! And anyone else on the board who wants to post pics. It is satisfying to me, to see good progress in dressage because it really makes the horses more beautiful, and of course more fit.

Interesting photo series, Piedmont!

Here is a montage I put together of Annabelle's progress January-July last year, and then another photo just before she got hurt in October, though I should go back and review that video for a better screen grab. Now I'm just hoping she'll be back to her April-July work before too long.

Thanks for the encouraging comments. Yes, I know I am not a perfect rider; it delights me to see that Emi improves in spite of that.

Straightforward, I like the series and progress! I hope it gives you inspiration as you get back to it with Annabelle. I would love to see other timelines! I'm not sure why it occurred to me to do this, other than the usual sense of frustration with progress and myself.

this was when i first looked at her and then bought her. I posted the photo on UDBB and the huge majority of folks were sure she would never be a dressage horse and i should not bother with her


despite her bad feet she was stoic, I was suffering a lack of confidence and working almost completely alone in a new premise, I almost sent her to get started but decided to do it myself



This was our first show I think it was August 2014 they were taken by the NJ Herald, it was the State Fair and I was in the paper lol




I know this was 2015 because my son took the photos, Kimba could not canter originally and was a pacer so she was very zoomy in this phase




the beginnings of collection she hollowed her back a a lot, but I remember being quite proud of her progress here

And then second level, i took her out once last year, Musical Comedy actually suggested the show. I was a tiny bit disappointed with the scores, we could have done better, i was quite tense and did not show her at her best that day.

These are great to see.

Chisamba, it's clear to see Kimba's improvement both in training, but also in her body condition.

Straightforward, great to see Annabelle's trot get looser, more open.

Below is mine with my mare. I copied Chisamba some and included a starting and ending pic of her just standing to show the change.

For those who don't know, I adopted MM from the BLM in july 2011. I started her under saddle in Oct 2011 after lots of ground work. Our journey has been slower than I might have liked the last several years, with a few years of confused and non-productive training int he middle. I do feel like we're back on track and even if progress has been slow, it has been there.
