Hi dressage friends,
I'm prepping for an upcoming show (fingers crossed that we will actually make it to) and I want to make sure I'm straight on a couple of exercises. Hopefully we are going to make our 2nd level debut (exciting/scary). So, correct me if I'm wrong below:
In 2-1, you ride K-E Shoulder-in right, E Turn right.
- If I remember correctly, this should be ridden Shoulder in and then turn right without straightening before the turn. Right?
- This would also apply to 2nd 3 where you K-E shoulder in right and then E circle right 10m. Right?
If I was approaching a corner, I would straighten before the corner, but in these exercises I keep SI into the turn...yes?
Thanks in advance for the help!

That's how I ride it.

Re: Test Question: SI - then turn right
Yes, shoulder-in flowing into the turn then straightening across the arena.
Re: Test Question: SI - then turn right
Shoulder in should 'exit' into the turn (follow the positioning) UNLESS the test should say 'si/straighten/turn' (which it does not).

Yep this is how I've ridden it too at competitions.

Correct! Otherwise you would have to finish the SI before E, straighten and then turn right.
I may be weird but I really like the second level tests
