Your gills are large for you but really sound like the least of current challenges.
Hope the pain/nausea game works out soon. Hang in.

I am glad they are keeping you for a bit. Make sure to tell them that you will be home alone--they may be able to keep you in a bit longer.
(Do we call you "fishface" now?

Feel better soon.

Yikes! My biggest concern is I no longer see the "yes" on the leg. Sure they got the correct one?
Re: Surgery Day! Jingles welcome :)
lOl boots. That's terrible! Yes I'm sure they got the right left leg
the other knee is being done next year.

Re: Surgery Day! Jingles welcome :)
How is your pain today? Are you still in hospital?
Re: Surgery Day! Jingles welcome :)
Next time tell them to give you a femoral nerve block to do the surgery and control the pain in the immediate post-op period. I never had general anesthesia for my knee surgeries.
Re: Surgery Day! Jingles welcome :)
Are you up an jumping around yet? (Just kidding) You do have this in your favor: you're young and beautiful! Oh, and you love horses.
Re: Surgery Day! Jingles welcome :)
On my way back home! Knee feels ok, and I'm a ninja on crutches
Feeling queasy from lying in the back seat...oy.
Will give a better update when I'm home.

Gosh I'm sorry to hear about the complications. I hope you can rest when you get home and that you start feeling better.

Glad your pain is getting better!
Re: Surgery Day! Jingles welcome :)
Checking in today to see how you're doing. I'm impressed at your gumption to get through this on your own. You go girl!
Re: Surgery Day! Jingles welcome :)
The crutches thing is tough, as I can't carry anything. I really should have picked up a backpack! And I can't get up too quick for Django.
I have had a lot of trouble sleeping, I've maybe amassed 10 hours total in the last week. There's a lot of light dozing at night without ever falling completely asleep. I know sleep is necessary for healing so it's frustrating. This heavy brace on my leg makes it near impossible to get comfortable. And I can only lie on my back, which sucks because I'm a side sleeper.
Thanks for the encouragement guys.

I hope you can get some good sleep!
For carrying stuff, do you have an apron with pockets? Or can you stuff a few things in a plastic bag and wrap it around the hand rest on the crutch?

Not sleeping well is tough, good luck managing the pain and getting the zzzs. More healing jingles and sympathies, you seem to be a tough and determined lady, so you'll get through. I'm checking in daily to see how you are doing, so keep posting!
Re: Surgery Day! Jingles welcome :)
Many jingles for solutions to the pain problem and solutions to everything else!! What a ride you are having!! Hugs to you as well!!
Re: Surgery Day! Jingles welcome :)
Thanks everyone
I had to take a month off work and put a deposit in my new place, PLUS pay for car insurance and my Banff trip, song actually have no idea how I'm going to pay my $700 CAD rent this weekend. I got a second job, so I'll be working 6-7 days a week starting June 25, but until then I'm hooped. I don't know how single people living on their own can ever afford to take medical leave. I literally have like $4
Sigh. The show must go on I suppose! I've been contemplating selling my car. I don't know.

Re: Surgery Day! Jingles welcome :)
It is tough doing it by yourself, having to find $$ to cover leave etc.
I've been in the same job forever, so have accumulated leave, but I do miss a double income!
Hope it all sorts out for you asap and isn't too stressful while it does.

Thinking of you. Consider asking for donation help from friends who have more. Many people are happy to help if asked.

Very true Piedmont. I've put out asks and it is a hard time for many people it seems. I never would have booked my surgery for now if I had known I would be moving and it would be so difficult. I just had to get it done once they gave me a date. Foreseen is forewarned.
Re: Surgery Day! Jingles welcome :)
Update on my recovery progress,
I can put a fair amount of weight on it now, it's not too sore. I was supposed to start PT at the hospital this week but I still can't drive myself so it's going to have to be postponed. I haven't been able to unpack much, but my landlords are being very accommodating and will help me on Tuesday when they are back in town.
A longtime member of the forum has amazingly offered a very generous hand up that will enable me to pay this month's rent plus more. I'm shocked by the generosity she's shown and so grateful for the gift.
I can't wait to get back to work, I'm rather isolated here
