OK, So I freely admit that I fool around is Photoshop way too much. I just spent about an hour creating these two when all I was going to do was put a simple texture behind a cut out of a trotting horse....I'll include the original photo at the bottom. Do you like either of these. I know the colors are garish, and that could be toned down, but I kind of like it. I may crop them down a bit to make the horse more prominent.
You can click on the photo to see a bigger version.
Black and white:
Hit-you-over-the-head color:
Original, which I took a couple weeks ago.

I could not get the large pics, but I love the bright and harsh one, I would enjoy that on a t shirt

I'm with Chisamba... the hit-you-over-the-head color I could see me wearing on a t-shirt. Having said that, on a wall, maybe not so much
The B&W doesn't do much for me.

Wolf here. I don't like either of the cutouts. The original I like because the hind leg is effortful, but in the cut out you lose the muscularity of that. The angle is just enough off that it doesn't work for me as a cut out.
Good that it works for other people tho!

And, I'm of the mind that I'd like the t-shirt to be the tie-dyed style with the horse silk screened (preferably, I dislike the iron on stuff) on the t-shirt
Re: I'm just gonna throw myself to the wolves...opinions
I like the colorful one as well, not so much BandW.

I'm with you on the iron-on stuff. BLEH! I have a few things from Cafe Press of Fergus and it just cracked right off. Looks like hell.
Re: I'm just gonna throw myself to the wolves...opinions
I agree with Boots, although I don't think I would have picked up on it myself. The back legs look like they are coming out of the same hole.
As far as the technique goes, I don't love these, but I think it has huge potential.

I love the color one! As WMW mentioned, I would wear it on a t-shirt, or even a cap, as well. I could see it matted and hung on the wall in a bright airy space or a kid's room as well. (This is kind of my job, take client's ideas and incorporate them into their custom home in a way that works..lol)

I can give the hind legs more "separation" by adding a few lines to show the forward leg is in front of the other one. I think you and boots are right, it's too vague.
I know this isn't a style suited for everyone. It's not something I would put on my wall for sure. But I'm looking to put together different designs with idea to start marketing cards and other items.

Nothing on your technique, Suzon, but this horse has a rather plain head. In the original, it is forgiven but in the simplified variations, it gets kind of lunky IMO.

And maybe an interesting card set would be a package with both the "loud" and B&W stylizations??
And yeah, I get the challenge... what you or RTR or I might like is no predictor of what others may like

I too like the bold colored one!
Re: I'm just gonna throw myself to the wolves...opinions
I like them both, for something like a piece of pottery I would use the B&W. I could see the colorful one on a water bottle or hat.
Re: I'm just gonna throw myself to the wolves...opinions
I don't care for either. The cut-out loses the power of the original, and ends up being clunky. You need a much more stylized outline of a horse to look good in a cut-out.

I'd have to see the colors but for me, not so much This one just isn't working for me. It is much less stylized which, IMO, is what allowed the B&W and tie-dye to work...

I'll work on it. I was hoping to capture more of the horse's energy that was lacking in the others. but now I'm missing the energy of the color.

Always happy to give feedback. I think it's great there are a variety of tastes here so you can get a choice...
The tie-dye was stylized enough that the "lack of energy" didn't bother me as the color "carried" the photo.
I am wondering in this case if the contrast was a bit more sharp and the color less "strong" so the black helps pop things more? Seems in this case, the purple kind of overwhelms the rest of the horse...
Just musing as I am not at this level of PS or creativity... just an "expert" at my own opinion

Ok. I like the second tie-dye much better than the first and when 'ooo' (in a positive way) on the colored chorus line
Yes, I'd get note cards of the chorus line. I might even get a small print if I could think of the right place in the house to put it (and I like the chorus line better than the second tie-dye)

Yippee!
I'm kinda falling for the chorus line as well. I was thinking I might put it on a long sleeve T, since all my old ones are pretty much toast.

And it might be interesting going up/down a sleeve?
Re: I'm just gonna throw myself to the wolves...opinions
I like the one of the colored chorus line probably because I did an odd watercolor of something similar a long time ago.
I used to play with photoshop, too and your pic reminded me of one I did. It was from a black and white of my old Arab gelding, Zippy. The only thing I "drew" a bit on was his tail. Other than that, he really looked that way, hogged mane and all. He was 26 in the photo and we lost him two years later.

Demi, you did a lovely job on that tail, btw.
Well, while I was laying in bed being bored with MMA fighting (DH loves it) I hopped on my laptop and opened a Zazzle store. I put up a few things with the Rainbow Horses. I was just going to do T-shirts, but I had no idea you could do things like lamps...so I had to try that.
Here's the URL: http://www.zazzle.com/fuzzywunkle
And then, I also put it up on Fine Art America for prints and canvases.

I have my FAA storefront linked to my facebook page and my website. Does anyone know if you can do the same thing with Zazzle?

Yes, I can do a sweatshirt of the Chorus line....or anything else. Can put it on front or back (I made myself one with it on the front).

OK, I designed a couple hoodies with art on the back...this is in no way a pitch for anyone to buy, just spurred by suggestions here.
Rainbow Equine Chorus line Shirt by fuzzywunkle
Dressage Silhouette Sweatshirt by fuzzywunkle
If you want it on a T-shirt or different style hoodie or whatver, you can scroll through and pick another style shirt, or color.

Suzon, I did look at products that Zazzle had and noodling over a few
My "challenge" the hoodie is I am pretty much always sitting down so the back is covered up.
Debating over the regular sweatshirt (black background, thoughts? and the "nicer" sweatshirt) or the laptop case (black)
I know, I am not helping!

Somewhat hilarious that I am going to offer an opinion here, but I think the black and white would be better on the front of a long sleeve T. I think it is a bit weird on the back.
As an aside, it also looks incredible framed in my office!!!

I actually put it on the front first. You can get it on any of their shirts, but here's the long sleeve one:

Yeah, I'll work on the black background for that later today. You have to design specifically for their black stuff, otherwise it looks like poop.

Poop? No thank you
The dressage horse might also look good on their coasters... not sure the chorus line would just because it is such "horizontal" design (whereas the single horse is more square/round.
How do you put one of your pictures on something you don't specifically have listed to order?

Just ask me and I'll set it up. Like if you want it on a apron, or a Christmas ornament, or whatever. They seem to have endless items you can put stuff on.
Except for shirts. If you look at whatever the showcased shirt is and go over to the right, you can see every shirt it's offered on.
