Turns out, I am done with chemo
So, after a couple trips to the ER and a couple more to the chemo clinic for fluids, my oncologist called it quits on chemo for now.
My potassium dropped dangerously low which involved me staying in the hospital to bring it back up again. Then my magnesium dropped and I had to go to the ER for fluids for 6 hours. Then back to the chemo clinic for MORE magnesium on Friday and again yesterday (and my potassium was pretty low too).
I saw my oncologist yesterday who said ENOUGH. My hands are covered in a blistering rash which feels like a bad burn that itches. She said that is from the taxane.
So, we are going forward to surgery and will decide whether to finish the last two chemo treatments following surgery. It looks like my body will have about a month to recover before surgery, I think (Going to see the surgeon on Thursday).

But yes, strong. You are fighting through probably one of the hardest things you'll deal with in your life and you're still fighting and have not given up! Give yourself some downtime to rest and rebuilld strength and maybe, as you feel better, pampering as only you would know what would make you feel warm and toasty about yourself

Re: Turns out, I am done with chemo
Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled to not have chemo again for a little while. It knocks me down soooooo hard. It seems my brain finally gets kicked into gear and then bam, it is time for more chemo and the week following chemo I struggle to concentrate or work.
I am feeling pretty good today (good enough to work). I think the fact that now it is only a matter of days before things return to normalcy for me (at least for a little while) that I am feeling so good. Still tired but not as tired as I had been (that could also be the crapton of potassium they filled me with yesterday too).
Honestly, I will probably want to finish the last two chemo treatments after the surgery. The first two were a walk in the park for me. So, hoping that the last two after a brief break will also be a walk in the park.

Re: Turns out, I am done with chemo
Sending vibes your way...I watched chemo kick the shit out of my friend for a year when she was diagnosed with stage 4. She beat it and is cancer free once they took out one of her kidneys where it originated!
