Thank you, everyone. Today I wasn't feeling very well but went to ride him anyway and that, coupled with "new owner nerves" and he being a bit of a schoolmaster for me meant it wasn't a great ride. I consoled myself with knowing that sometimes people buy schoolmasters and they can't even get them to walk, lol. We got the engagement in the end, and his temperament is just lovely, but it did play into my nerves over the whole thing.
