Xan - I am so sorry. I have always admired your horsemanship and dedication to the welfare of your steeds. And I have enjoyed your tales over the years of your adventures with your horses. I am very sorry that this chapter had such a sad ending.

Godspeed Baby Bronto and big hugs to you Xan.
Re: The end is nigh
My eyes are stinging with tears right now. I know that you already knew you had to let him go, but I hope that something is found that will just reinforce in your mind that what you did was really the only choice. I am so very sorry that the hopes and dreams you had wrapped up in this horse never came to fruition. It's a very hard thing to come to terms with. (((hugs))) to you
Re: The end is nigh
Xan I am so sorry, letting go of hopes and dreams in the prime of life is a special kind of hell. Fingers crossed some answers are found that help make sense of it all. Hugs.

Xan you are a gifted storyteller. And unfortunately, it is the gift that has got me crying because I can feel your pain through your story.
I'm sorry he is gone.
I'm sorry he is gone.
Re: The end is nigh
The insurance company just sent me a request for payment for another year of coverage - haha! I may have been hemorrhaging cash to keep this horse going, but even I am not daft enough to pay insurance post mortem...
I do hope they find something catastrophic in there on necropsy. When I think about how hard he tried despite it all, well... what a horse. I used to wonder why he was so heavy in the hand towards the end and I suppose neck arthritis will do that. Any other animal would have just told me to buck off and go bother someone else.

Yes, B Bronto was SO SO GOOD! It is amazing to see that despite all of his challenges, how much he kept giving. Wishing him pain-free gallops in the next dimension, and a good rest and recovery for you.
Re: The end is nigh
I’m so sorry. I’m glad he passed easily and I hope you can take some comfort in the life you gave him despite the challenges. I also hope you find some answers in the necropsy.
