Re: Riding vacations
Let me know if you end up having any questions. We had a wonderful time though the experience might not be for everyone. If you don't like historic properties or actual, real working stables, you might be put off. If you want instructors who handle you with kid gloves, you might not like this. If you want a shopping vacation with all the modern conveniences, you definitely will be put off! But the horses were top quality, the instruction really made you dig deep and was really satisfying, and the views simply took your breath away. Food was superb- locally sourced and made with great care.

Re: Riding vacations
Where did you fly to, and how did you get to the riding centre?

Re: Riding vacations
We flew into Heathrow. We made a bit of a production out of getting out to Stanton but that was totally by choice. The easy way is to take the Heathrow Express into the city and hop the train out to Moreton-in-Marsh and grab a 15 minute taxi to Stanton. It was actually easier than it sounds and very relaxed and friendly.
What we did was to take the Heathrow Express into the city, went to the Wallace Collection for lunch and wandered around Marylebone since that's our old stomping grounds, then took a taxi to Paddington and hopped the train out to Moreton-in-Marsh. Then we stayed overnight in Moreton-in-Marsh at the White Hart Royal hotel and stayed in a fabulous 2 room suite that King Charles I had stayed in in 1644 (skipped out on his bill, too!). http://www.whitehartroyal.co.uk/ Had a lovely dinner and wander around the village, then took a taxi the next morning to Stanton. When we left, we got a taxi to Evesham and took the train to Windsor for the Royal Windsor Horse Show and more riding lessons on a GP schoolmaster Ascot at Coworth Park in Ascot. https://www.dorchestercollection.com/en ... rian-polo/
The whole thing was very manageable without a car and reasonably priced enough that we are looking forward to doing again soon.
