Schooling show in April. Walk/trot over poles and canter on the flat. It's an indoor show, and obviously a "hunter" show. We don't have to wear show clothes and no braiding. I know I'll be riding against the kids, and the kids will beat me! I don't care. This will be a huge boost for my confidence especially the canter part.
In today's lesson, Kim kept telling me "sit up"during the canter. I jokingly said "can you do this during the show?" She said sure, the trainers are allowed in the arena during the show and can coach.
This is huge for me.

Have a great time!

Congratulations, PaulaO! This show sounds like the perfect situation for Ariel's and your debut. I was going to show Ranger at a local schooling show in March, but a clinic I would like to attend opened up, so we're going there. Looks like our debut is postponed until April. Let us know how it goes - and.pictures, please!

Is the show at your barn, or will you be trailering out?
I think I'd like to show now and then if I was at a barn that had on-site shows.
I used to love to go to shows, and would go to considerable trouble to do it. But just a couple of years ago, when I was 64, I went from showing about once a month during the summer to zero interest in showing.
So now I tell my riding friends (most of whom are at least 10 years younger than me) that no matter what it is that they want to do, do it now, while they still have the interest.

Re: Miss A. and I are are going to show
The show is indoors at our barn. There may be a few outsiders, but pretty much it is the lesson program. I could not trailer out! My nerves would explode, as would Ariel's. She has a bit of anxiety about being separated from "her people." She was shownin the schooling shows last year so she will be fine. I however, might have a melt-down!

Have fun!
Don't worry I always end up competing against kids in eventing and they usually beat me
