Best Half Pad To Put Under the Saddle Pad
Do they make a half Pad that has no rolls? I know I can do a custom Mattes pad, but don't want to wait that long. Any other suggestions to reduce a lumpy look? My current half Pad has a back roll and that looks really funny.

My horse is much happier having fleece against his back vs a saddle pad. I Don't want to buy fleece lined pads because I love all my regular pads!

My horse also prefers fleece, Fleeceworks makes what you are looking for.

You can buy a sheepskin, cut whatever shape you want from that, place under your regular pad.

The rolls on a Mattes pad are super easy to remove.
Re: Best Half Pad To Put Under the Saddle Pad
I would just get a piece of real sheepskin, that's sheared, and cut to shape and use that. But I'll be the dense one and ask why you need a half pad under the pad or what you're trying to accomplish with it?

My horse is just happier that way. Sheepskin is much softer and disperses heat much better. That is why they make sheepskin lined pads.

Mattes does make half pads without the back roll.

NuMed makes pads with wool only in the saddle area.

The problem with this is I have spent years collecting pads and matching polos, that I would no longer get to use

Hey redsox, I failed at doing a pm, but if svv doesn't want your half pad, I'll take it.
