2016 goals
I'm rubbish at keeping resolutions so I'm making goals. My first is to do the spin bike at the gym at resistance 12 for the entire song "Ina Gadda Da Vida." Another goal is to lose 30 pounds so I won't feel like a tub if I go on a riding vacation.
I'm not setting goals regarding horses. As I wrote in my journal this morning, who knows what 2016 will bring?

I thought the title was "2016 Goats". I just had to see what that was about.

Re: 2016 goals
2016 is going to be the year of throwing crap away in this house.
Re: 2016 goals
Riding-wise, my big goal is to start taking lessons again. It's been 8 years, long story, but mostly because I keep my horses at my former trainer's barn and she had to stop teaching due to her health but won't allow any other trainers to come in (and I don't have a trailer, since I have no show aspirations). This year I want to get some knowledgeable eyes on the ground again, even if it means starting with lessons on someone's schoolmaster first and then begging or borrowing or renting a trailer to take my horse to the lesson with.
Non-horse goals are still forming but mostly have to do with organizing and taking back control of my time at home (another long story, but the brief version is that eldest son, daughter in law and 3yo and 18mo grandkids live with me and DH, so you can imagine the chaos of two combined households plus a preschooler and a toddler entails. . .)

Re: 2016 goals
My goal for this year is to simply ride. And drive. And to enable me to do that, my horses are coming home for the spring, summer, and part of the fall. They can go back to the farm for the winter, though I would rather have them home full time.
Re: 2016 goals
My goal is to do some riding at a local stable. I have no current goal to get another horse of my own at this time.( DH and I want to take a long camping vacation out west this year.) I would like to do a little jumping this winter, if I can get a strong enough seat back. A young woman has a small lesson program near me and does lunge lessons and english/western lessons. She doesn't do dressage, but she can keep me fit and has a horse that will do low jumps. She is convenient, and easy to work with.

Re: 2016 goals
My goal this year horse-wise is to get them a barn built at our new property so we're one step closer to moving there.

I was thinking this morning we need a "decrapifying" thread....
Re: 2016 goals
We totally need a decrapification thread. I have a goal to decrapify and paint the laundry room.

My favorite word "Decrapifying". I will never be a hoarder because I love to decrapify too much.

My goals for my mare is to be ready to show 3rd by June/July and work on confirming 4th/PSG work. My goal for me is to increase my core strength and hip flexibility so I am not hindering Charm as we are working up the levels. I would also like to shed 15-20lbs but going to concentrate on fitness first

Re: 2016 goals
Horse goals: do the ground work with my coming 3 year old and get on her this fall. Take her various places for the exposure so she becomes a confident traveler.
Fitness goals: run two of the major local half marathons - one in April, one in November. Lift weights twice a week.
Home: Finish the xeriscaping in the front yard. Keep the house decrapified. Grow and preserve lots of food.
Work: Be more engaged and less cynical.

Keep calm and canter on.
